What to Expect at Your First Appointment
At McGehee Clinic for Animals, we are an animal hospital in Memphis, TN dedicated to the lifelong care of dogs, cats, and exotic pets. Our team places a special emphasis on collaboration with pet parents to help maintain their pet’s quality of life.
Appointment Procedure
When you bring your pet to McGehee Clinic for Animals, your veterinarian will perform a complete wellness examination to evaluate your pet for the following:
- Clear eyes, ears, and nose
- Heart and respiration
- Abdomen palpation
- Proper bite placement
- Any signs of infection or parasites
- Appropriate growth and development
- Presence of hernia
- Initial vaccinations and a suitable vaccination schedule personalized to your pet
Your veterinarian is also available to discuss questions you may have regarding your pet’s care and their overall health. We ask that you arrive early for your appointment and bring any previous pet medical records to enable our team to provide the best possible care for your pet. This also allows ample time to complete paperwork prior to your appointment and allows our team an opportunity to review.
Pet Arrivals
We value the safety of all patients and their families while in our care, and we ask that all pets be up to date on appropriate vaccinations. In addition, although we strive to provide a positive experience for each of our patients, it is possible they may become overwhelmed in a new environment. Because of this, we require pets to remain on a leash or in pet carriers while visiting our animal hospital.
